Ingredients

  • Tomatoes chopped: 3 cups
  • Onions: 1 cup
  • Carrot: ½ cup
  • Masoor dal soaked : ¼ cup
  • Powdered Jaggery: 2 tsp
  • Salt and Pepper: to taste

Method

  1. Pressure cook the Masoor dal, carrots and tomatoes with 4 cups of water in a cooker.
  2. Blend the mixture and keep aside.
  3. Saute the onions on a medium flame till the onions turn translucent.
  4. Since we are not using oil use a non-stick pan or spray the pan with cooking oil.
  5. You may sprinkle a little water if it starts sticking to the pan.
  6. Add the tomato mixture, jaggery salt and pepper.
  7. Bring it to boil.
  8. Serve hot.
